Global British lifestyle brand Ted Baker has opened his first standalone store in the Ukraine, located in Kyiv’s prestigious Ocean Plaza shopping mall. A major landmark in Kiev’s city centre, Ocean Plaza is home to 420 stores in total as well as a spectacular 350,000 litre aquarium, which obviously appeals to Ted given his well-known love of fishing.
The 1686 sq. ft. store takes inspiration from Kupala Night (Ukraine’s Summer Solstice celebrations), blending this with the British traditions around the same event, as well as May Day fetes.
The store comprises a mix of celebratory, warm colours infused with earthy materials is complemented with details representing the four elements all around the store. Star signs and constellations represent Air, while fern and forest details stand in for Earth; ribbons in various warm colours emulates Fire, and rippled glass with painted colour behind denotes Water. The theme is completed with sundials and sun-dappled patterns across the store.
The new store will stock menswear, womenswear, accessories and jewellery.
